Katie Price puts disabled son Harvey on Ozempic to save his life: ‘He’s at risk of heart attack’

Katie Price has revealed that she’s putting her overweight son, Harvey, on Ozempic to “save and improve his life”.

The son of the TV star, 46, has several health complications, including Prader-Willi syndrome. The genetic disorder means he has an excessive appetite.

Having previously expressed concerns about her eldest son’s weight that could be “life-threatening”, Katie has decided to take action.

Katie Price to put Harvey on Ozempic

The 22 year old weighs 28 stone and Katie is worried her son will suffer major health complications if his weight doesn’t drop.

She revealed in an interview that Harvey will take Ozempic, an anti-diabetic medication that could result in weight loss when administered with diet and exercise.

He’s at risk of a heart attack, and because of his condition, he’s not getting any smaller.

Katie believes the medication can be “life-changing” for her son.  She told the Sun: “He’s at risk of a heart attack, and because of his condition, he’s not getting any smaller. He’s putting on weight. It doesn’t matter what we do.”

Explaining the seriousness of her son’s condition she said: “He can’t put his shoes on without sweating. He can’t walk far because he gets out of breath,” she said.

Katie said the doctors are putting Harvey on the drug to “give him a better, longer life, and for his health”.

‘It’s just the way he is’

Harvey has struggled with his weight no matter the weight-loss methods. He’s already taking several medications for other health issues, which she said shouldn’t react with the jabs.

Katie is optimistic about the drug but said it can be stopped anytime as it’s taken weekly.

The TV star said: “We’ve tried food, he’s had dietitians, it’s just the way he is. And he’s on a lot of medication which the drug won’t affect.”

The doctors want to try the anti-diabetic drug on Harvey for at least a year. However, they plan to “control what level he needs then up it as they assess it”. Once Harvey loses weight, he might have surgery to remove the excessive skin.

Harvey is a full-time resident at National Star College and isn’t happy about living away from home. Katie said he’ll be moving closer to her residence in March.
