Capital host Jordan North’s family heartache after younger brother’s cancer diagnosis

Capital host Jordan North previously recalled his brother’s heartbreaking cancer diagnosis, revealing “no child should ever have to go through what he went through”.

The beloved TV star – who is hosting Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball on Saturday (December 21) – has three brothers: Ryan, Bradley and Dominic.

However, the family was hit with heartbreak years ago when Jordan’s youngest brother Bradley was diagnosed with cancer.

Bradley was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer when he was just 11. The illness returned on two further occasions as he progressed through his teenage years.

At the time, brother Jordan, then 16, stepped up to the plate to help out his family amid the ordeal.

Speaking on Lorraine in 2020, his dad Graham said: “Bradley our youngest son was diagnosed with cancer. Jordan was 16 at the time and he manned up at the time and looked after Dominic.”

Jordan North was his mum’s ‘rock’

Graham added: “He was absolutely superb. He has a fantastic human nature, you’re proud to call him your son.”

Jordan’s mum then said: “He was my rock. While all that was going on, he kept the family home going, saw his brother to school. He saw himself through college and had three jobs. He’s a really incredible person.”

Due to cancer, Bradley, now believed to be 29, had to have his tibia, fibia, full knee and kneecap taken out of his right leg.

It was replaced with a prosthetic metal bone – but it regularly became infected. In 2018, Bradley decided to have his leg amputated and replaced with a full prosthetic leg.

In 2023, Jordan took part in Stand Up To Cancer. The I’m A Celeb star revealed his brother’s cancer experience is the driving force behind his support for the campaign.

“I’m standing up, because – like many people watching this – members of my family have had cancer, it’s really affected us,” he said.

Jordan added: “My mum had breast cancer and, throughout most of his childhood, my youngest brother, Bradley, had osteosarcoma, which was a tumour in his knee, and it was just the worst. No child should ever have to go through what he went through, and what loads of children are going through right now.”

Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball airs on Saturday (December 21) at 12:50pm on ITV1.
